The machine is for cutting hard objects and comprises two rotating drums mounted on parallel axes with each one having a helical shaped groove running the length of its outer surface. A drive mechanism is connected to the drum ends of rotating them and an abrasive metal strip is wound around the drums to form a parallel sheet. Each end of the strip is wound around a feed reel which pays out and takes in the moving strip. A supporting structure houses a cutting edge which is moved vertically in the plane of the strip by an operating lever.
