The threaded-spindle drive aggregate has a main nut (18) for the spindle (20). The driving element (11) is mounted in the housing (10). The nut (18) has a cylindrical cover (16) of which at least a part-that forms a piston is assigned to co-operate with a socket (25) fixed to the housing (10). The cover (16) and stocket (25) form a chamber (C) of a variable volume. A control is provided to change the vol. of the chamber (C) from a min. to a max. value. The control can be from a source (35) of pressurised fluid coupled to the chamber (C) by a release valve. Alternatively, the control can be by a spring.
