The simple electromechanical stimulator allows physiological experiments to be carried out on the muscles of laboratory animals. It delivers electrical impulses from a series of temporary contacts produced by a rotary interruptor coupled to a direct-current motor. The interruptor creates no inductive effect in the circuit it controls due to the arrangement of the contact pieces. It delivers square-section signals at the output. A regulator can be provided for the speed of the motor driving the interruptor and thus the frequency of the impulses, which can thus be accurately set.
|
