<p>The decorative sheet made of paper suitably treated to give a bronze or other metallic finish is applied over the cork, neck and shoulder of a wine bottle instead of using a metallic material. The use of paper is intended to avoid difficulties arising in washing liquid baths when the metallic material is used. The apparatus used to apply the sheet has a sheet or label magazine alongside a carrier drum with an adhesive applicator on the opposite side. After the adhesive coating, the label is transferred to an applicator drum where a folding member forms a fold, and where a perforating wheel makes a perforation which subsequently assists removal. The applicator then applies the label to the bottle.</p> |
