FERROCEN-DERIVATE, VERFAHREN ZU IHRER HERSTELLUNG SOWIE IHRE VERWENDUNG ZUR VERSORGUNG VON PFLANZEN MIT EISEN

Ferrocene derivs. of formula (I) are new: (X = O or S; Z = 1-6C alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio, aryl, opt. halo substd. aryloxy; or di(1-6) alkylamino. R1, R2, R3 and R4 = 1-4C alkyl). They are prepd. by reacting the corresp. ferrocenylmethyl trialkylammonium iodide with MS.P(X)(Z)OR4 (M = Na, K or NH4). (I) are useful for providing Fe to plants and for treatment or prevention of Fe deficiency diseases in plants. They are more effective than Fe EDTA complexes and do not form stable complexes with Cd, Pb or Hg. A typical cpd. is tetramethylammonium O-methyl-S-ferrocenylmethylthionothiolophosphate.
