Paper web plastics forming screen dehydrating plate - with array of oppositely facing slots with sharp leading edges and rounded off trailing edges to assist suction effect

Dehydration box suction plate for plastics paper web forming screens is provided with sets of oppositely inclined slots which diverge in the direction of web movement and the leading edge of the suction slots is sharp, whilst the trailing edge is rounded off, chamfered or otherwise discontinued. Pref. the leading edges are made of harder material than the plate. Leading edges may be coated with ceramic oxides, mineral or meatl filled epoxy resins or sintered materials from steel or metals, whereby the materials are selected from those whose index exceeds 5 in the Mohnsch scale. Suction effect of the leading edges of slots on the screen is not impaired.
