The sheet guide unit is for directing the sheet into a gripper cylinder on a rotary printing machine. It can be adjusted to optimum conditions to accommodate sheets of different thickness. The sheet is fed by transport rollers onto a feed table and up against registration marks on the cylinder which is fitted with interacting clamping jaws. The sheet guide comprises guide tongues movable periodically up and down around a shaft. The tongues each have a depression on their lower surface to receive any buckled surface on the sheet due to its feed speed being greater than the circumferential speed of the cylinder itself.
