A rotary woodcutting blade (5) and its fastening lie wholly outside (behind) the hollow (6) forming the clearance for shavings. The hollow can thus be of any size, and, in particular, large enough for working soft wood. The blade is attached to a wedge (3) by a peg (4), and the wedge is held in place by the head of a screw (2). The screw-head is bevelled underneath to fit the wedge and to secure it against radial movement. The fastening preferably has two pegs and two screws for each blade. The wedge can have two hollows in its rear surface, into which the fixing screws fit.
|
