An air conditioning humidifier has a steam inlet (3) which leads into a dry steam chamber (1). There is a sieve (4) in the base of this with a condensation outlet (5) below it. A chamber (2) inserted in the top of the dry steam chamber or forming part of it contains activated carbon which converts corrosion protecting Hydrazine entrained in the steam into harmless components. Within the centre of the dry steam chamber (1) is a discharge evaporator chamber (7) which the steam enters through a flow reversing pipe (9) and a control valve (8). Between this and the steam outlet (10) there is a section containing sound insulating material. The steam is discharged from the outlet (10) into a pipe containing a number of spray jets.
