Inspection shaft cover lid lifting machine - has lever arms pivoted about wheel axle for handling heavy covers

The travelling lifting machine is used for lifting inspection shaft covers in road surfaces. The lifting is carried out by lever action. This facilitates lifting of heavy lids used owing to increased traffic loading. The lifted lid is also transported by the lifting machine. The machine has two ball bearing mounted wheels so that the lid lifted by lever action can be moved away and brought back after work in the shaft has been completed. The lever (1) has on one end chains and hooks (3) for lifting the lids. The lever (1) is pivoted about the wheel axle. This arrangement is used as a barrow for moving the heavy lid suspended from chains away from the shaft top.
