Procedure for spaced stacking of boards - boards are spaced on stacking place by backwards movement of running cross conveyor

The procedure is for spaced stacking of boards by which the delivered boards (2) are built up on a cross conveyor (5) to form an enclosed layer (11). Subsequently the cross conveyor (5) with the layer (11) of boards is brought in a position above the stacking place for the boards. The positioned and running conveyor is then moved backwards at a speed which is higher than its conveying speed. During the backwards movement of the conveyor the boards are placed on the stacking place in such a way that they are spaced on the stacking place in such a way that they are spaced a distance (S) apart. The speed difference between the backwards speed and the conveying speed of the conveyor (5) is adjustable. The conveyor (5) which has a small height (L) is movable from a position at the side of the stacking place to a position above the stacking place.
