Brick firing furnace heating system - uses solid fuel in form of comminuted waste rubber particles burnt in lean mixture

The system for heating brick furnaces is esp. for use with tunnel or tubular furnaces using a solid comminuted fuel. The fuel used is composed of chipping of used or waste rubber. The chipping of waste rubber have an average thickness of from 1 to 3 mm and have a length of from 10 to 30 mm. The waste rubber chippings are fed into the furnace with an access of air in the order of two to three times the volume of rubber. A coal or coke base is used to iritiate combustion. The goods to be heated are carried through the furnace tunnel on an endless conveyor.
