<p>The silencer is for gas flows pulsating with variable frequencies, particularly for motor vehicle exhaust gas. The silencer body is wholly or partly made in a resilient material and the inlet and /or outlet is enclosed by plates which themselves are wholly or partly in a resilient material. The plates are provided with orifices for the gas flow, wholly or partly closed by flaps which may also be wholly or partly made in a resilient material. The silencer may comprise a number of expansion chambers in series or in parallel. The chambers may be made in resilient material and have different wall thicknesses.</p> |
