A finger board (2) for stamped instruments has a series of cut-out sections which run lateral to the long axis of the board and are used to accommodate the bridge or raised pieces across which the stamps press. The cut-out sections are so designed that their width increases inversely with their distance of separation from the stamp to eventually reach a max. value. The bridge may be of a circular design or of a triangular construction (3). No further adjustment is necessary once the finger board (2) is mounted in the mfg. process.
