The novel (water-sol.) azo dyes free from carboxylic acid and sulphonic acid gps., are of formula (I): (where A is a quaternised triazole radical; R3 is a non-ionic substituent; n is 0, 1, 2 or 3; R4 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl, opt. substd.; R5-R8 are each H or Me, Et or Pr, two or three of R5-R8 being H; X is an anion). They dyes are used as red-bluish/red dyes for (co)polymers of acrylonitrile and dicyanoethylene and acid-modified polymides and polyesters, the dyeings being fast to washing, perspiration, steam-pressing and light. They are also suitable for the wet transfer printing process. |
