<p>Barrel contains parts in bulk during their chemical or electrochemical treatment by immersion in >=1 bath. The barrel is rotated beneath its supporting chassis. The improvement is that the axis of the barrel is vertical or slightly inclined, and the periphery of the barrel is formed by >=1 stationary casing located below a rotating casing; and the base of the barrel can be driven vertically so that parts loaded at the top of the barrel can be removed via the base. The barrel pref. contains a mechanical stirrer for moving the parts being treated, the stirrer being driven by the same device which rotates the upper casing. The driving mechanism is pref. a motor using gears to drive a vertical shaft connected via radial arms to the moving casing and also actuating the stirrer. Used e.g. for the surface treatment of metal or plastic parts used in domestic appliances, cycles, motor-cars, nuts and bolts, etc. The barrel is inexpensive to mfr. and is easily (un)loaded.</p> |
