<p>The locking/unlocking mechanism is for use on railway wagons with telescopic sliding covers, and allows the sections of the cover to be immobilised both in the closed (or fully extended) position, and in the open position. The mechanism which is located at the end of the wagon consists of a transverse rotating bar on one end of which pivots a stop block (4) able to hold back a catch (6) fixed to the wagon cover. A spring (11) ensures that the stop-block (4) engages with the catch (6) to hold the cover in the locked position. A lever attached to the transverse shaft is operated, rotating the shaft, thereby disengaging the stop-block (4) and allowing the cover to be slid back.</p> |
