1475564 Cameras EASTMAN KODAK CO 17 Oct 1974 [17 Oct 1973] 45021/74 Heading G2A A photographic camera comprises lenses 9, 11 selectively positionable on the optical axis of the camera, diaphragm shutter blades 2, 3 which are releasable by operation of a member 1 for respective opposed sliding movement in the directions B, C to a position in which apertures 2a, 3a define an exposure aperture, an exposure aperture opening pre-selector 5 for selecting the desired exposure aperture, and a spring-loaded slider 6 which is set by the pre-selector 5 and which co-operates with an abutment arm 10a on the mount 10 for the lens 11 and with a spring-loaded lever 4 pivotably movable about a shaft 13 when the shutter blades 2, 3 move, to limit the movement of the shutter blades and so the exposure aperture formed by the apertures 2a, 3a in accordance with the setting of the preselector 5 and with the focal length of the lens selected. When the lens 9, which is a standard focal length lens, is used teeth 6a on the slider 6 are engaged by a lug 4c on the lever 4 to move the slider downwardly to engage the arm 10a and to disengage a lug 6c from an arm 7a of a pivoted spring-loaded shutter resetting member 7 which has an abutment 7b for engaging the lever 4 to reset the shutter. When the lens 11, which is a telescopic lens, is positioned on the optical axis the arm 10a is moved out of the position shown so that the slider 6 does not engage the arm 10a but moves further down whereby the exposure aperture is increased for a given setting of the pre-selector 5. The spring-loaded lever 4 has slots engaged by pins 2d, 3d on the shutter blades 2, 3 so that when the member 1 is operated the lever is pivoted anticlockwise to engage the lug 4c with the teeth 6a and the shutter blades 2, 3 are moved in the directions B, C. When the pre-selector 5 is moved it pivots the slider 6 about a pin 22 to dispose the teeth 6a in the position corresponding to the desired exposure aperture. The shutter resetting member 7 is rotated against its spring loading by means of a shutter cocking slider. More than two lenses may be provided for selective use, arms similar to the arm 10s being provided on the mounts for the lenses or the arm 10a being stepped appropriately. The exposure aperture may be provided by means separate from a shutter which is used only to expose a film located behind the exposure aperture. The pre-selector 5 may be automatically controlled in response to a photocell affected by scene illumination.
