1475125 Immunological detection of a protein GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 21 May 1974 [15 Aug 1973] 22662/74 Heading G1B A method for immunological detection of a protein comprises contacting with a fluid suspected of containing the protein a slide having adsorbed on it a monomolecular layer of a first protein immunologically reactive with a second protein, the second protein being the protein to be detected, then contacting the slide with a solution of a third protein immunologically reactive with the protein to be detected, then examining the slide, the formation of a trimolecular layer on the slide indicating the presence of the protein being tested for. The contacting process may be repeated using a plurality of antibody solutions, each solution containing antibody to the antibody of the next preceding solution. The slide may be examined by one of the methods described in 1443181. There is reference to determination of rabbit antiserum to bovine serum albumin, of human antibodies to hepatitis associated antigen and of hepatitis associated antigen.
