<p>1456491 Anchors PITTMATIC ANCHORS (UK) CO Ltd 28 Feb 1975 8455/75 Heading B7S An anchor comprises a shank 10, at least one fluke arm 15A, or 15B, pivoted at one end of the shank, and resilient retaining means, e.g. a spring 14, in a cylinder 12, to normally retain the arm in position, but which releases the arm to an obtuse angle relative to the shank on overload. The anchor also includes a stock 11. The arms can be rotated to lie in the same plane as the stock for storage purposes. The spring 14 acts, via a plate 17, on embossments 18A, 18B on the arms. In Fig. 4 (not shown), the spring acts via a conical member 19 disposed between the ends of the arms. The arms can be retained by an hydraulic unit. The retaining means can take the form of plastics or rubber units. The arms can be locked in their normal position.</p> |
