<p>1516721 Air filter DONALDSON CO INC 2 July 1975 [5 July 1974] 27834/75 Headings B1D and B1J An air filter comprises a housing divided by a partition 13 having apertures 24 round which filter elements 26 are removably clamped, each element comprising an axially pleated sleeve 27 of paper enclosed between concentric perforate sleeves 31, 32 which are joined to sleeve 27 by rings of adhesive 33, 34, all three sleeves being secured to upper and lower end plates 35, 37. Lower plate 37 closes the bottom of the element and supports a tie rod 42 which screws into a barrel nut 46 seating in grooves 47 on a spider 50 welded to the lower face of partition 13. The inlet chamber below the partition has access doors (12) for changing elements, a powered dust discharge valve (17) and an inlet (20) with a perforate baffle to effect preliminary separation of heavy dust (Fig. 1 not shown). The outlet chamber above the partition encloses venturi nozzles 55 and reverse flow jet apertures 57 for reverse flow cleaning of the elements. Apertures 57 in each horizontal pipe 60, (61) supply reverse flow air to two elements when a corresponding timer-controlled valve (62) is opened (Fig. 3 not shown). An air pump or fan may be attached upstream or downstream of the filter.</p> |
