<p>1459263 Shovelling machines BARKO HYDRAULICS INC 7 March 1974 [28 Nov 1973] 10301/74 Heading E1F [Also in Division B7] An articulated vehicle having a loading device, such as a knuckle boom loader 26, comprises a main frame 10 having non-steerable hydraulically driven wheels 12, 14 and a single power source E in combination with a non-powered steering unit 42 detachably pivoted to the main frame, the power source E driving wheels 12, 14, powering the loader, actuating the steering unit and operating outriggers 34, 36 on the main frame 10. The steering unit is connected to the main frame by vertical pivots 70, 74 and is moved for steering by hydraulic rams 86, 94 flanking the pivots. The steering unit wheels are mounted on an axle 112 which is pivoted about a horizontal axis to allow oscillation. The outriggers 34, 36 support the main frame when the steering unit is removed, possibly for use with a similar non-steered loader unit, and the cab C and knuckle loader are rotatably mounted on the main frame 10.</p> |
