<p>The prime mover is designed to be driven by a medium, typically wind, and has a vertical shaft (7) equipped with a support with stops on which vertical shutters pivot. Some of the shutters assume a position to suit the flow direction of the medium, while others are forced by it against the stops, thus imparting a rotary movement to the shaft. The support can be formed by pairs of radial arms, between which the shutters pivot, each pair carrying two shutters, which can be so mounted that they can only swing to one side of the radial plane formed by the pair of arms. One set of arms can be mounted halfway up the shaft.</p> |
