<p>An improved process for the polymerization of 1,4-halosubstituted-2,3-epoxybutanes is described. Improvements in conversion, yield, and reaction rate are realized using as catalyst the combination of an aluminum trialkyl with boron trifluoride, phosphorus pentafluoride, phosphorus oxyfluoride or antimony pentafluoride and carrying out the polymerization of the epoxybutane(s) at below 0 DEG C.</p> |
