<p>Parent Patent describes a housing comprising a sprung clamping device for ceramic, monolithic catalyst substances part of a gas flue duct or exhaust pipe; at each end of this casing, there are axial, circumferential pockets in which undulating compensating springs are mounted and guided. In this Adddition, the elastic mounting is constituted of plate spring packages in conjunction with a closed or slotted sheet-metal sleeve and fibrous ceramic liner to contain the catalyst, or of sprung tongues bent up from the sleeve and bearing against the outer surface of the casing. Preferably, where plate springs are used, the edges of one spring overlap the next to form a gas-tight seal.</p> |
