Fluid sealing joint for rotating shaft - has threaded shaft and jointing covered by jointing material

The shaft at one point is reduced in diameter and is covered with a sleeve (39) of metallic oxide thermal insulation. The sleeve (37) is a press fit on (39) and has threads on it. Between this and part (36) is sealing material, such that partial fusion exists between it and (36). Cooling fins (5) are provided to remove heat generated. The threaded part is heated by Foucault effect in a coil created field. The shaft tends to expand and the housing to contract, due to heating and cooling respectively. The shaft projects through the wall of a reservoir and a sealing ring (27) prevents escape of fluid.
