1400256 Biologically degrading petroleum wastes BANQUE POUR L'EXPANSION INDUSTRIELLE 15 June 1972 [28 June 1971] 28131/72 Heading C1C A process for biologically degrading a petroleum waste material comprises emulsifying the said material in water using a biodegradable glue or gum and nitrogen- and phosphoruscontaining materials to give an emulsion having a nitrogen content of from 6-8% by wt. and a phosphorus content of from 1-3% by wt. based on the weight of petroleum waste material, and subjecting the emulsion to aerobic conditions. Substances which may be used in preparing the emulsion include gum arabic, gum tragacanth, glue derived from bones, skins or fish, vinasses, ammonium nitrate, dicalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate. |
