Fitted bed linen, esp. sheets - which is stretchable in one direction, pref. contg. textured synthetic yarn

Bed linen esp. stretch sheets for covering mattresses has a stretch capacity of 5-20% (pref. 8-15%) in one direction. Pref., in the direction of stretch, the linen includes a synthetic yarn (e.g. polyester) textured by false twisting. The linen may be woven or knitted, and can be used with mattresses of different sizes. In an example, a fabric is woven using 22 yarns/cm of cotton yarn for the warp and a textured polyester yarn (167 dtex/30 strands) for the weft. The fabric is heat treated at 180 degrees C without tension for 30 secs.
