The wall fastener is for the hanging of pipes and comprises a wall plug (2) integral with a lug (3) at the top end to which a pipe can be connected. The plug is a longitudinally slotted (14) sleeve (13) capable of being driven into a hole in a wall or ceiling and becoming lodged due to the resilience of the material of which the fastener is made. The lug is in line with the axis of the plug and has a hole (11) for connecting the pipe. The lug may have a rounded head (9) to facilitate driving by hammer. The fastener may be made of heat-treated steel.
