<p>The device is for maintaining a moving band of material at a predermined tension as it travels between a reeling machine and a cold farming station. It comprises a driving motor and an associated tachometric generator, with a detector for determining the tension being applied to the band. The detector relays an electrical signal which varies the rotational speed of the winder to increase or decrease the tension present in the web. The detector comprises a chassis mounted spring biassed lever with guide rollers attached to the end of the arm through which the band passes.</p> |
