The orthopaedic equipment holds a patient in the correct position, particularly one suffering from myopathy, having an open-cage type corset, a seat in the form of a shell, and means for securing the lower limbs. The corset (1) has a rigid shell at the back and sides, to which two flexible front walls (4) are secured, the latter being typically secured round the body by lacing. It is detachably secured (8) to the seat (2), so as to hold the patient in the sitting position, and also at each side to the means cor securing the lower limbs, via a pivoting and lockable hip-piece, for use when holding the patient in the vertical position. |
