The static switch is of the type having a all or nothing amplifier (12) interposed between any alternating electrical supply source and any user circuit. It has an inert probe comprising at least a dipole which is sensitive to any human action. The power amplifier is tied to the probe by means of a voltage amplifier and is designed to operate at low frequency. The power amplifier is a contact (12) of a control relay (50). The voltage amplifier (14) includes a controlled switch (51) which is in series with the winding of the control relay and which is tied to a control circuit (52) connected to the probe. The voltage amplifier (14) also includes a capacitor (53) which is connected to the terminals of the circuit comprising the control relay winding (50) and the controlled switch (51). The capacitor (53) has a charging circuit (54) which shunts the contact of the control relay.
