<p>Granulate is covered with a water soluble, dust-preventing additional layer, by colouring this layer for identification of the various kinds of fertilisers, using additions of ca 0.05% of dye. The coloured aq. plastic soln. is applied to the granulate in one process which makes the dye mechanically more stable as it is embedded in the plastic. The coloured granulate may then be treated with amines or oils at 0.005-0.2% in a second process to prevent caking. Alternatively an amine or other anti-caking agent may be added to the aq. coloured plastic soln. at 0.05-1% of the soln. The application of the compound layer can take place without first cooling the granulate, at 80-100 degrees C.</p> |
