These compounds are prepared by reacting a corresponding 5-hydroxyindole with R 2 NH 2 + excess CH 2 O. Therapeutic compositions having diuretic, antihypertensive, antiulcerous, antiinflammatory, sedative and analgesic activity comprise compounds of the above formula, and may be administered orally, parenterally or rectally. |
