<p>The magnetic torus for containing high-temperature plasma in a fusion generator, employs a magnetic field with lines of force radial wrt the particle stream's axis of symmetry. The magnetic field undergoes contractions along the direction of motion of the particles. These contractions progress along the particle path at different speeds. The coil generating the field consists of two helical windings with opposite pitches each of 45 deg. The windings are electrically independent of one another and curved round into a torus.</p> |
