A function processor, i.e. a minicomputer or electronic calculator with hardwired mathematical functions and stores of different size and number for the data to be processed, is designed for efficient processing specifically of complex numbers. The device is suitable for use in conversion between numerical point definitions in the field of surveying. The processor contains a data input keyboard and result display. Each storage cell contains two cell units for real numbers, the first corresp. to the real part and the second to the imaginary part of a complex number. Correct processing of the complex numerical data is ensured since both store operations and processing operations, including basic calculations, relate to the contents of both units of each storage cell.
