<p>High speed press has electrodynamic drive unit for the press ram. The drive unit consists of electrically conducting drive plate on press ram, solenoid on press frame and capacitor discharged through solenoid. The working stroke duration is half the oscillation period of the oscillating circuit. The minimum working stroke length is one tenth of the solenoid diameter. High cutting speeds are achieved together with high efficiency and long life of the solenoid. The cutting speed is specified by an equation in terms of the deformation energy, moving mass of the press ram (2), press tool (3) and the driving plate (5). The cutting speed and resonance frequency of the oscillating circuit are applicable to mass range of 5-30 Kg and for the stroke length varying between 10-30 mm.</p> |
