<p>Converting human excrements is effected by using biologically active material consisting of water-unsatd. compost having medium ripeness. Compost is obtd. by rotating garbage and/or clarified sludge. Compost contains 30-55% water, 55-70% organic substances, has pH 5-6 and low fungus development. Compost has a fine- crumbly structure; brown peat-like appearance; an earthy smell, and is permeated by microorganisms of Actinomyces globisporus, flavus and farinosus, Coprinus spec., Aspergillus spec. and Mucor type, or with mites, and nematodes and enchitreae. Excrements can be converted to an easily transportable condition. Process requires no chemicals. Odoriferous materials are absorbed and converted by microorganisms. Pathogenic germs are killed. Process allow planning of week-end houses and camping sites independently of canalisation systems. Processed excrements may be used directly as fertilisers or soil-improves.</p> |
