<p>In the stringed musical instrument of guitar or lute type the strings pass over a saddle at the upper end of the finger board. The support edges form one common edge for the strings (IV), (V), (VI). The support edge for string (III) projects forward closer to the bridge than the saddle sections for the strings (IV, V, VI). The saddle edge for the last two strings (I, II) is situated further back from the support edge of the first three strings (IV, V, VI). The saddle edge of string (I) is a little back from that for string (II).</p> |
