A process and appts. for ironing a variety of garments and bedding, using heated intermediate plates and unheated outer plates with a pneumatic pressure. The ironing is effected by a pneumatic expansion without a compressed air cylinder, to operate the two heated intermediate plates and the two unheated outer plates. The design gives an equipment composed of relatively cheap components, without requiring external pneumatic pressure sources and costly mechanisms.
