Sprung framework for transport of patients - has shock absorbers of adjustable hydraulic oil type to allow height positional adjustment of patient support platform

A sprung framework is incorporated into an ambulance. A lift drive is provided to raise the platform on which the patient is laid and which is adjustable against counter-operating spring tension to arrest at any requisite height. One or more shock absorber untis of hydraulic oil filled type are mounted on the sprung framework. By cutting off the oil flow within the shock absorber, the height of the patient platform may be instantly adjusted to the required level.
