<p>1474903 Road making compositions IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 7 Aug 1974 [30 Aug 1973] 40885/73 Heading C3P Compositions free from plasticizing oil and suitable for making into road marking compositions comprise a dry-mix of (1) a thermoplastic resin melting in the range 70‹ to 200‹ C. and being selected from low molecular weight polyethylenes, terpene resins, polymers and copolymers of styrene and its homologues, and petroleum resins, and (2) aggregate. The compositions may also comprise ballotini, pigment and fillers, and may be converted to road marking compositions by mixing and heating with plasticizing oils. In an example an aggregate of calcium carbonate and ballotini is dry-mixed with chalk filler, titanium dioxide and petroleum resin, and the resulting free-flowing powder blended with mineral plasticizing oil at temperatures up to 160‹ C.</p> |
