摘要 1474718 Slider holder for the assemblage of sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 16 Dec 1974 [19 Dec 1973] 54192/74 Heading E2S The invention relates to a device for holding a slider 14 for the assembly of sliding clasp fastener stringers therethrough wherein said slider includes a pull tab having an aperture 19 therein, the device comprising a hollow support structure 10 having a slider rest 11 on its top and a slit 12 extending downwardly therefrom to receive said puil tab 13 of said slider when the same is placed upside down on said slider rest, a locking lever 16 mounted within said support structure so as to be pivotable between a first and second position, said locking lever having a detent 18 at its top end which is adapted to engage the aperture 19 in the pull tab 13 when received in said slit when said locking lever is in said first position and to disengage said aperture when the locking lever 16 is in said second position; and first spring means 22 biasing the locking lever toward the first position. The device is characterised in that a retractable stop 26 is mounted within the support structure 10 so as to be pivotable between a third position, where said retractable stop extends across the slit 12 to engage and retain said locking lever in said second position, and a fourth position where said retractable stop disengages said locking lever to permit the latter to be pivoted to said first position by said first spring means 22, and second spring means 28 biasing the retractable stop toward said third position, whereby when the pull tab of the slider is fully inserted into the slit 12 the retractable stop is thereby pivoted from the third to the fourth position against the bias of said second spring means 28 to permit the detent 19 of the locking lever to engage the aperture in the pull tab. As shown in Fig. 4, the stop 26 is bifurcated and further recessed at 31 to accept a reduced thickness portion 20 of the locking lever 16 when the latter is in its operative position, the stop 26 engaging steps 21 on the locking lever 16 to hold the latter in its inoperative position, Fig. 1. In a modification, Fig. 5 not shown, the locking lever (16) is provided with a vertical slot (21a) which slidingly receives a reduced-thickness, free-end, portion of the stop (26) when the latter is in its locking position. In operation, when the pull tab 13 of the slider 14 is inserted into the slit 12, while the holder is in its inoperative position, Fig. 1, it depresses the stop 26 downwardly, against the action of the spring 28, so that the stop disengages the locking lever and allows the latter to be turned, by the spring 28, anticlockwise, into its operative position, Fig. 2, where the detent 18 projects into the tab aperture 19 and securely locks the slider 14 on the rest 11. After the fastener stringers have been inserted through the slider 14 the locking lever 16 can be returned to its inoperative position, by moving the end of the locking lever 16 clockwise either manually or by a reciprocable mechanism, e.g. a solenoid, 24, 25, so that the spring 28 rotates the stop 26 into its horizontal position where it maintains the locking lever 16 in its inoperative position ready for the mounting of the next slider.
