As shown in Fig. 1 the conduits 12, 14 are connected at one end to a source of sample 16 and a delivery location 18 respectively and commonly at the other end to one side of a piston 26 in a chamber 24. The piston 26 is actuated to draw sample into the chamber while conduit 12 is open. This is achieved by having a common actuating system comprising a source of pressure 42 and a source of vacuum 43 and a valve 20'.</p> |
