1474792 Lockable screw caps BLAU KG FABRIK FUER KRAFTFAHRZEUGTEILE 12 July 1974 [24 July 1973] 30932/74 Addition to 1330022 Heading B8T A screw closure cap has a centrally positioned cylindrical lock 3, 31, 311 operating radially displaceable members 121 to engage recesses between portions of an interrupted screw thread on a socket as described in Specification 1,330,022 and comprises a lower screw cap portion 2 and an upper rotatable cap portion 1, the said portions being twistable relative to each other but interengageable through projections 61 and 611 of a coupling bridge member 6 when applying the cap to or removing from a container, the bridge member being abutted on the underside by a helical compression spring 7 provided to limit the tightening torque of the cap when locating the cap on a container. The spring abuts against a ring disc or washer 15 supported on a projecting flange 14 of the lock cylinder, and presses a sealing ring 10 in abutting relationship below the flange 14 against the drawn-in edge 16 at an aperture provided for the lock cylinder in the base 111 of a cupshaped insert member 11. A preferred form of sealing ring is shown in Fig. 3 and 101 and has a projecting sealing ring portion 1011 abutting with the flange 14. More than one such projection or ribbing may be formed on the sealing ring enabling the easy rotation of lock cylinder portion 31 during actuation of the lock. Lock cylinder portion 3 is metallic and secured against turning by rib 3b in a longitudinal slot of sleeve member 6V, but portions 31 and 311 may be of plastics material and the rotary movements of a key may be transmitted via the pin 3a to the lock portion 31 or by the eccentric pin 12 to the catch member 121 and the lock portion 311 whsch is mounted in the base 211 of the lower cap portion 2. The flange edges of the insert member 111 and the lower cap portion 2 are pressed together with an interposed sealing ring 18 and a sealing member 17 is inserted beneath the flanged edge 21 of the lower cap portion and acts against the socket edge of containers.
