1526775 Mining KAISER RESOURCES Ltd 22 Oct 1975 [25 Oct 1974] 43365/75 Heading E1F [Also in Division B8] In a mineral mining system in which mined material is conveyed away from a continuous mining machine in a flume 28 after being converted into a solids/water slurry on leaving the machine the mined solids material is discharged from the machine into a downwardly inclined trough 20 that is supported by the machine, has a relatively movable engagement with the flume 28, and is associated with a water supply means that delivers water into the trough near the upper end of the trough. Preferably the machine includes a crusher, e.g. a roll crusher or a bar crusher, and conveying means 19 for carrying mined material from the front of the machine via the crusher to the rear of the machine for discharge into the trough, which may be suspended from the rear of the machine by chains 26. The water supply means may include a slotted header extending across the upper end of the trough, which may be covered for at least a portion of its length. The lower end of the trough preferably has a sliding engagement with the trough which is formed in sections of which the lower end of an upper section merely rests in the upper end of the adjacent section with no sealing means between the ends. |
