1474448 Spindles; avoiding one-sided deformation of drum driven packages MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AG 3 Sept 1974 [26 Sept 1973] 38396/74 Heading D1J In a drum driven bobbin winding apparatus the bobbin chuck has a mass that is freely movable in a circular path concentric with the bobbin chuck axis. This mass corrects any tendancy that the apparatus may have to build up a one-sided deformation of the package when rotating above the critical rotational speed. In Fig. 12 the bobbin chuck 1 has at its free end a balancing element 7 comprising a circular race 8 on which a plurality of balls 9 are freely movable, there being not less than two balls. For accelerating the balls sufficiently fast and for damping purposes the balls are enclosed in a liquid-filled chamber 10. In Fig. 13 (not shown) the balls have been replaced with pendulum type members. In Fig. 14 a liquid 24 is used as the mass, the liquid 24 only partially filling the chamber 23. |
