<p>Glycol polyarylphosphonates contain units of formula where R is H, halogen 1-4C alkyl (opt. substd) n is 1-3 and X is halogen. Specif. claimed is bis(bromomethyl) 2,2-propanediol-1,3 polyphenylphosphonate. The compds. are used as fire retardants in acrylonitrile (co)polymers with which they are compatible. They also soluble in solvents used for spinning those (co)polymers (esp. DMF and DMSO) and they do not tend to crystallise, exude or volatilise.</p> |
