1320638 Rotary positive; displacement machines ATLAS COPCO AB 21 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 44013/71 Heading F1F [Also in Division B3] A single-tooth gate rotor for a machine of the Roots'-blower type having two co-operating rotary pistons, comprises a hub 1, Fig.1, with a radially extending tooth 2, the tooth being formed by a concave flank 4 and a convex flank 5 having a flat 6 thereon. The tooth may have a radiussed tip (7) Fig.2 (not shown). A mating main rotor Fig.3 has a convex leading tooth flank 4a and a concave trailing flank 5a and the tip 7a may be sharp or radiussed. The rotors are provided with cavities 8, 9, so as to assist in balancing. A modification in which the rotors are of stainless steel with integral shafts is described in conjunction with Figs. 5-7 (not shown). (For Figures see next page) |
