<p>Support is for use with an extension arm carrying a light, e.g. for a roadway or bridge lamp standard. It includes a damped spring mounting for the arm, typically of compressed rubber. The mounting can be in the form of a sleeve (5), open at both ends, on the support, and a stirup on the arm whose legs (6) extend past and clear of the open sleeve ends. A coupling member (7) extends between the stirrup legs and through the sleeve, and means are provided to limit the distance for which it can turn in relation to the latter. Typically, both sleeve and member can be of square section, the member being rotated through 45 deg. in relation to the sleeve, in whose corners cylindrical springs (8) are mounted.</p> |
